honestech MPEG Encoder 7.0 Pro Author is a product that is capable of an encoder with high compression rate and fast conversion, and shows its true performance when used with a Intel MMX products. It is an easy-to-use encoder that and provides exciting MPEG video streams. With its honestech MPEG Encoder 7.0 Pro Author's fast movement prediction algorithm allows high compression rates and provides clear quality video. Also, batch operation and a simple GUI make encoding very easy.
Difference between Standard and Pro Author.

Supported MPEG-1 Standards
The following MPEG-1 standards are supported.
* AUTO: Create stream that matches with original input file.
* Internet Low Band: Create files appropriate for low speed Internet environment.
* Half Screen Internet: Create streams appropriate for transmitting under medium speed Internet environment.
* Full Screen Internet: Create streams appropriate for transmitting under high speed Internet environment.
* NTSC: Create MPEG files for NTSC.
* PAL: Create MPEG files for PAL.
* Video CD: Create MPEG files for video CDs. (VCD)
This supports following frame rate :
* 23.976 fps - (24000/1001) NTSC film
* 24 fps - Standard cinema film
* 25 fps - PAL
* 29.97 fps - (30000/1001) NTSC
* 30 fps - (drop frame) NTSC
If you select frame rate for 25 fps - PAL, you can create VCD, SVCD, DVD for PAL.
* You can create MPEG files with fixed bit rate or variable bit rate.
* Audio may be created only with Layer2 of MPEG1.
* Audio bit rate may be selected according to the ISO/IEC 11172-2 Standard as following. 112, 224 KBit/Sec.
