[Audio Recorder 2.0 Plus] The sound is really low when I record LPs. Do I need an amplifier when I'm using a record player (turntable)?
Yes, in this case you will need a stereo receiver or amplifier to amplify the audio signal from your record player (turntable).
Many turntables are unable to amplify the signal on their own. Those record players(turntables) without built in amplification will need to be plugged into a stereo receiver/amplifier to boost the audio to a listening level. The outputs from the stereo receiver/amplifier can then be plugged into the Audio Recorder capture device (MUZBOX) for recording purposes.
If your stereo receiver/amplifier does not have any RCA outputs, you may need to use the headphone jack.
|
• [Audio Recorder 2.0 Plus] How do I connect my record player (turntable) using a preamp or receiver?
- Connect your record player (turntable) to the input jacks on the preamp or receiver.
- Connect the red and white RCA-Audio cables to the output jacks* on the preamp/receiver and then connect the free end of the RCA jacks into the MUZEBOX capture device.
-
*If there are no obvious “output” jacks available on your preamp/receiver, try connecting to the Tape Rec or Tape Out jacks**.
-
**If there are no Tape Rec or Tape Out jacks, you may need to obtain a headphone to RCA adapter cable and use the headphone jack as the ouput from your preamp/receiver.
- Connect the MUZBOX to the computer via the USB cable.

To verify the MUZBOX is being recognized by the program, open the Advanced Mode and select the Options (Gears) button. The Audio Device should list USB MUZBOX in the drop down menu.
